I admit it... I wear Uggs. With winter just around the corner, I consider them a crucial necessity. Though they may be annoying looking, or the infamous UGGly, I still wear them proudly. I don't wear them year round--which brings me to the point that they defeat their purpose when you wear them with shorts--but once the chill hits I bust them out and never take them off. With the Classic Tall (my personal fave) being around $150, they are a relatively easy buy that can outlast most purchases. I'm sure they're just the modern day Doc Martin that will soon go out of style, so that's why I have to cherish my time with them. You can buy them at most shoe stores, and if you want them as a Christmas present BUY NOW because they're more popular than High School Musical action figures at a 4th grade sleep over. I love uggs too. I have been guilty of wearing them with shorts but only around the house. Don't you worry... loved your post though.
Are UGGs really a style? I almost see them as a non-style. As for going out of style, this boot started showing up on actresses and models - and yes, with shorts and skirts - more than five years ago. So, I think you're safe so keep on wearing them. Personally, I don't understand the look - unless your waling around in the snow...
I wear my Uggs almost every day when it gets cold. But I agree, if it's not cold enough to wear pants, then it's not cold enough to wear Uggs. I recently got the new Cardy style and seriously searched for the grey pair for at least 2 months. My mom finally found them at small store that we believe had just begun to stock them days before she discovered them, so buying them now for the holidays is great advice. Uggs are so comfortable and warm that I don't plan on giving them up until I move somewhere warm enough where their useless.
